The wines

“Morello”
Ottavianello
Ostuni DOC

Elegance is the term that best describes this wine: soft, silky, full-bodied. It delights the sense of smell with its sweet spiciness and embraces the palate without being astringent. It is the perfect companion for the traditional cuisine of the area of Brindisi. It is excellent with fish soups, dispelling the myth of red wine pairings, and can be drunk slightly chilled in summer.

Where the love
for the land begins

I am an accountant dedicated to agriculture: 15 years ago, I heard the call of the land and decided to dedicate my life entirely to farming, continuing my family’s activity as full-time olive growers. I had already opened an accommodation facility on the farm, but at that point I decided to change my life completely, and that’s why I now call myself a “farmer”.

Over the course of a few seasons, I also started a wine project that slowly gained importance: the recovery, promotion, and enhancement of Ottavianello and Impigno, the basis of Ottavianello Ostuni DOC and Bianco Ostuni DOC respectively. This project has become a priority, and four more vineyards have now been added to those planted in the first decade, following the principles of sustainability, protection, and enhancement of the agricultural landscape, and continuing in the wake of the rediscovery and enhancement of rare, almost unobtainable grape varieties.

We cultivate the land in harmony with the rhythms of nature and try not to change anything by implementing biodiversity, a source of richness.

This website is dedicated to the pleasure of introducing you to my land.

Enzo Iaia

And when, in autumn, you gather the grapes from your vineyards for the winepress, say in your heart: 'I too am a vineyard, and my fruits will be gathered for the winepress, and like new wine, I will be kept in eternal barrels.'

Khalil Gibran

Come visit us for a tasting

We welcome wine tourists eager to know our winery. Our concept of wine tourism is based on the dissemination of food and wine culture, in-depth analysis, storytelling.

Our goal is to immerse our guests in our reality, make them understand the origins of our wine project, and finally make them appreciate our wines.

Hospitality

Sunlight. Different colours. Relaxation.

For almost thirty years, our villa has been opening its doors to visitors from all over the world. Five apartments in total are ready to welcome many guests who want to spend a relaxing vacation surrounded by nature, in contact with the true essence of this part of Apulia. Four apartments have been created from the technical rooms above the medieval hypogeum and one from a “cave” in the middle of the vineyards. They have been transformed into small apartments equipped with every comfort. In addition, we can offer two rooms with private bathroom.

The charm and beauty of the Apulian countryside are revealed in all seasons, from spring to late autumn, for a “never-ending summer” of light, sun, colors, and relaxation.

This is the most impressive and original accommodation in Villa Agreste: restored six years after the start of tourist activity, it consists of a double bedroom with a bathroom completely carved into the rock, a living area with a sofa bed and an equipped kitchen with a fireplace. Outside there is a patio with a magnificent view over the rows of vines. It is ideal for guests looking for direct contact with nature and relaxing solitude.
